Brian Kaplan MD
He is a member of the Faculty of Homeopathy since 1983 and a Fellow since 2002. He has been an enthusiastic teacher since the late 1980s and teacges homeopathic case taking at the Royal London Hospital for Integrated Medicine. In 1987, Brian Kaplan, co-edited (with Dr Marianne Harling), D.M.Gibson´s Studies of Homoeopathic Remedies. He has always been fascinated by the homeopathic way of taking a medical history and in 2001 he published his book on taking the case, The Homeopathic Conversation (Natural Medicine Press, 2001) which has been translated into German. (Die Kunst der Fallaufnahme - das homöopathische Gespräch, Haug 2014).
For the past 18 years Dr Kaplan has practised Provocative Therapy, the cutting edge in the use of humour and reverse psychology in medicine and psychotherapy. Like homeopathy, Provocative Therapy, embraces a contrarian approach. When warmly and humorously encouraged to continue their self-defeating patterns of behaviour, patients quickly choose to prescribe, own and enact their own solutions to their problems.
